Physiotherapy in Lethbridge

Physical Therapy

Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by an injury, disability, or pain. Physiotherapists have an advanced understanding of how the body moves, what keeps it from moving well, and how to restore mobility and function.

Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic exercises are a key component of the rehabilitation process. They are also what sets physical therapy apart from other healthcare professions - they make it an Active process. They help you to not only recover, but to maintain the improvements that you gain during physical therapy, and prevent injury recurrence.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has many uses including encouraging healing, and reducing or relieving pain. The needles are very fine and are inserted in points in the body that correspond to energy pathways called meridians.

IntraMuscular Stimulation (IMS)

IMS uses monofilament needles in order to release tight bands and trigger points in the muscular tissue in order to alleviate pain. The needles are inserted and either advanced repeatedly (called "pistoning"), or left in for a short time and stimulated in order to promote muscular relaxation.
