Braces are a useful tool to offload an injured joint, and allow people to return to the activities they love more quickly. They are, however, a temporary measure!
A brace should only be used until the muscles supporting the joint are activating properly. If used too long, your body can become dependant on the brace, which can put you at risk for re-injury.
