Greetings

Welcome to the September newsletter from Peak Physical Therapy.

Happy New Year!🎉At least school year- so some of you may be celebrating getting back to routines and others may not be so happy about it! However you feel about the fall season, we hope you had a great summer and didn't get too much heat. We have new articles about shin splints and cheerleading injuries on our website so check them out. But more importantly, we have a new team member!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

New Staff Member!

We're excited to announce that a new physiotherapist, Jibin Jacob will be joining us. He comes to us from Prince Albert SK and he's looking forward to our milder winters (just don't tell him about the Lethbridge winds 😅).  We'll be sharing more information about him soon, so watch our team page and our social media feeds.

He'll be available for afternoon appointments starting Wednesday September 7th.

LIVE WELL

What kind of injuries do Cheerleaders deal with?

Cheerleading was initially established to boost team spirit and encourage unity among peers. Today, it is well-recognized as a competitive athletic event that requires a highly precise skill set.

Due to the combination of complex routines, stunts, and gymnastics, cheerleading is also associated with an increased risk of injuries.

BE INSPIRED

Understanding Thoracic disc herniation

Thoracic disc herniation occurs when protective material inside a spinal disc shifts out of place. For many people, a herniated disc is discovered during MRI testing for a different problem as few people experience symptoms due to this issue.

If thoracic disc herniation is discovered, assessing potential effects on the spinal cord is vital.
